The FAA Small Unmanned Aircraft System registration service is now live, and we have grabbed a video from Parrot to help you get your drone registered properly. If you have a UAV, you should consider registering your drone immediately.
It should only take a few minutes to get your registration completed. You’ll need to provide the regular information along with a $5 fee. The details about your drone can remain hidden as you will not be asked.
After you’ve completed the process, you’ll get a small UAS certificate of registration with a number to put on your drones if you’re planning on taking them outside for a flight. It’s good for three years and should be kept with you whenever you’re piloting a small UAS outside. Keep the physical copy or a digital picture with you at all times.
